What a calm, reasoned and informative essay in a sea of otherwise uninformed adamancy, senseless purity tests (just try to get my em dash from my death grip!)—seriously the approach herein clears the clutter of disinformation, hyperbole and retaliation from what should be an investigative playing field. Thank you, Steph, and I hope you continue to learn and help people understand what AI is, what it can do, what it stumbles on and how we humans ARE the guardrails we say we want.
Thank you!! That's very sweet of you to say. I'm so glad I started this substack so I can help authors learn to use this industry-changing tool... and still remain human.
I’m about 3 weeks into shifting my paid plan from ChatGPT and using projects there over to Claude Pro and the projects on that platform. I find that Claude is mirroring not only my style, but also my concerns about what makes a strong chapter or character. When I ask for ways to strengthen something, I always ask for numerous ideas and then tell it which ones I like, then I incorporate them and upload the draft to show what I did. The suggestions are now improving.
Yes!! It's so important to see our agency in our AI use. And, I love the reminder about being deliberate in our prompting!
So glad you liked it! It's a good reminder that we're always in the driver's seat when it comes to AI.
Excellent piece and advice!
Thank you! ❤️

I think Claude just gets me better than Chatty. 🤣
That’s so great! I think that some people just gel with a platform or LLM and that’s the way it is. I have a fondness for Gemini, but I use them all.
