Great article. I'd just like to add that, even on someone's best day, there's too much going on with AI, moving too fast for any one person to keep up. You really need a tribe helping to keep an eye on developments and exploring rabbit holes as they appear. That's why I find the folks at the FFA so helpful. We're sharing our discoveries so no one gets left behind.

A clear, practical take on what’s genuinely changed in AI and what’s just noise making it an excellent guide for anyone returning to the field

First off, I'm really sorry to hear the sad news about your dad. Those events are never easy to deal with and good on you for taking a break rather than forcing yourself to soldier on. As for this article, it's perfect timing on this for me. I feel now is the time for me to look at automations to save time on editing. Funnily enough, I'm currently working on a side project and forgot a fundamental instruction in my prompts to Claude. So many em dashes as to be laughable. Lesson learned. Not because of the Anti-AI Crowd and their hatred for the lowly em dash, but because in my writing I tend to use them judiciously. Just subscribed to The Brave New Bookshelf.

Thanks Steph! This is exactly what I needed to read right now. I would start with the BNB backlist if I hadn’t listened to them all already. 😘

My deepest sympathies on the death of your father. I know how very hard this can be.

Thank for the clear guide ❤️. Even being away a week makes me feel behind 😏. I was so sorry to read about you dad 💔. I lost mine in the summer - dealing with it takes time. So, my wish for you is that you have the opportunity to take it.

So sorry to hear about your father, Steph. I know that pain all too well, and I'm glad to hear you pulled back a little to give yourself room to grieve. It's a hard path to travel. ❤️

Hi Steph. So good to see you back and posting here on Substack. I have deleted many of my Substack subscriptions as part of "cleaning up the clutter" of political stuff I'm tired of spending time on. A focus on writing is my future and I'm done with distractions that don't relate to my future. You truly sound great! I'm glad you took time off and even gladder to see you back in the saddle. I didn't know about Brave New Bookshelf until this post. So I headed over and perused the website. It looks fantastic! I subscribed today. Thanks for all you do.

I would love to level up and write inside of notion…but I don’t know how to use notion 😩, I was team Trello, so first I need to learn notion then how to AI it up.
