A few years ago I had the idea of starting a podcast featuring two human side characters in my urban fanstasy world. They were conspiracy theorists and the plan was for each episode to be them reacting to the strange, supernatural events in the city and speculating on what was going on, often getting things terribly wrong. Fans of the books would be able to spot plot elements from the books, and I figured it would also attract new readers who wanted to go deeper. I never really got it off the groud due to lack of time. I would pick it up now with AI help, but I've left that series and pen name behind now. Sigh. But I still LOVE the concept.
I love the idea. Have you done any character marketing recently that I could interact with? Or do you know anyone who has in FFA or elsewhere? It would be wonderful to see actual working examples. Thanks, Steph.
What a brilliant idea! I'm definitely going to try that. A wonderful experience to create for readers who miss their favorite characters or would love to interact with their favorite! And there is so much potential.
As I get ready to start marketing the first book of a new series, your timing for this post is perfect. You gave me great ideas. I have an idea for a subscription for readers, and your ideas will help. That book looks like something I might want to take a closer look, too.
This is such a great idea. I’ve been working on a interactive character based website for a series that I’m working on, and this feeds right into this. That’s fantastic.
These are great ideas! thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you for sharing these great ideas. And for being so precise.

Ditto to this question. I'd be interested in seeing this in action, too.
Awesome, Steph. I’m running an exclusive character focused VIP with readers while I write the current WIP. It’s been a lot of fun for them (and me).
This sounds really cool. Where can we find check this out?
I’m running a subscription page on Ream and also my Substack here just started following the project. https://reamstories.com/jamiedavisbooks
This is brilliant. I was planning on releasing character sheets, but this is so much better! I can't wait to try it out.

Oooh, this is a really cool idea. Seeing as how I'm not a fan of the marketing aspect of publishing. LOL
